Kenneth Starr’s Luxury Apartment Heads to Auction
Remember Kenneth Starr? Sure you do; he was the financial advisor to high dollar clients and celebrities, namely Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Martin Scorsese. In 2010 he was charged with embezzeling $30 million from his clients and was found hiding in the closet when it came time to arrest him. Using a technique very similar to the well-known Ponzi scheme, he stole money from a well-known philanthropist, an actress and close friend, an heiress, and many more.
So why would you care? Because his gorgeous five-bedroom, six-bathroom triplex is going to the auction block on the 29th of this month, and if you’ve got a $250,000 cashier’s check to register for the auction, as well as $1 million letter of credit to make an inspection appointment you might be in business. Originally bought for around $7.6 million, an auction provides someone with the hopeful possibilty of paying a little less for this extravagant residence. We’re talking about a fully functional sauna, wet bar and a 1,500 square foot yard. When it comes to New York living, this is about as good as it gets.
What do you guys think of a place like this?
