Queens Moves Ahead with Impressive Skyscraper Additions

It looks like the waterfront of Long Island City is expanding faster than ever, and a large portion is going to the East Coast towers. Catering to buyers and renters alike, this is, if anything, quite an interesting development in the works.

With hardwood floors, vast vertical space, a landscaped common terrace and gorgeous finishes (quartz countertops), the collection of the East Coast rental towers are the epitome of New York luxury. And if these factors still weren’t enough to draw you in, we haven’t even mentioned the amenities: a fitness and recreation center (complete with 50,000 square feet of outdoor space) and a parking garage just to name two.

Perhaps the most impressive though, is the view. One of the newer, 42 story (367 apartment) towers has been architecturally designed to curve in a way that gives every apartment at least a partial view of the Manhattan, while other, more fortunate apartments are able to enjoy the entire skyline.

In total, the project is on course to be complete in 2014 and will hold close to 2,800 units, ranging in price from $2,000 a month to $3,350 a month. Currently, one of the 185-unit condo buildings in the collection (called The View) is about 75% sold, and while the average price of a condo in the same neighborhood stands around $750 a square foot, building developers TF Cornerstone is hoping to sell the remaining units for $850-$1,000 per square foot.

And some of their biggest clients: families. Directly adjacent to the building complex is a 662-seat elementary and middle school (kindergarten – 8th grade) that is currently undergoing construction and will soon be accompanied by a new junior high and high school being built in the same neighborhood.

Add in an abundance of restaurants, bistros, retail shops, and entertainment and you’ve got yourself a perfect spot for both starting a new family and putting it off for a few years.

Would any of you be interested in purchasing or renting one of these units?
