Beautiful 19th Century brownstones fill the streets of
Greenwich/West Village. From the merriment of Washington Square Park to the
new bike paths and parks on the Hudson River, this area remains
aesthetically true to its “ma and pop” roots. Bleecker and Hudson Streets
are filled with owner-operated boutiques, bakeries, intimate restaurants and
book stores. This is not to say this neighborhood hasn’t been affected,
however, by modern times. Prices can soar for the gorgeous, often historic
apartments here. But the history and charm of this literary haven, home to
many writers, actors and academics, is worth the price. The finest schools,
shops and restaurants can be found at the ready in this historically rich
and diverse neighborhood. The streets bend and weave and no two homes are
quite alike in this unique area of Manhattan. |
